Apex M4 Special Combat Rifle AEG Airsoft Rifle (Black)
[P11A00][36371]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Description:
APEX AIRSOFT: ALWAYS PREDATOR, NEVER PREY.
The Apex M4 Special Combat Rifle comes with a 8" quad rail installed for attaching multiple accessories. Included with the package is a vertical grip to have better weapon manipulation with the rifle. The front and rear sights can be folded down when using an optic. The internals are packed with a 8mm ball bearing bushing gearbox, an inline mosfet to protect the trigger contacts, 6.03mm tightbore inner barrel, and a quick change spring system. The adjustable crane stock is great for setting the perfect length to shoulder the rifle. Additionally, the flash hider has threads that can be utilized to attach a QD mock suppressor.
The charging handle is NOT functional and is for aesthetic purposes only. The dust cover must be released manually to access the hop up chamber. Pulling the charging handle roughly may stretch out the spring and cause damage.

Apex M4, OK caught this rifle as part of the 6.0 mystery box so I was taking my chances. but lets take a look. First impressions, the box (see cons) presentation, padding, information terrible. didn't even get an unjamming rod. the heft of the gun was nice but lets not get ahead of myself.. the branding and the very minimalistic styling made me a little wary but moving on...
Pros:
The Apex first off is all metal upper and lower including the rail sections, and sans the grip and the crane stock( + the flash hider of courese). The metal flip up sights are decent but only windage adjustments on the rear. Running it with an 11.1 LiPo the trigger response is snappy. At short range (not recommended btw) the groups are tight once you get it sighted in. the sight claims its supposed to chrono at an FPS of 350 - 360 but mine out of the box was averaging 415 so its a little hot but the range was 412 to 419 (with .20's) so very consistent - The quick change spring option will let you easily adjust that if desired. the motor is decent as well with a crisp 20 rps. The Rotary style Hop-up seems decent but I will have to await the field trial. The fire selector moves well and clicks solidly into place. The built in mosfet was a nice touch and the flash hider lends itself to further modification nicely. The construction is nice and solid and crane stock actually isn't too bad to open the battery compartment despite the usual snap clips that always either brake off or hurt you to remove. And lastly it comes with a standard 300rd metal high-cap magazine. Also the Mag-well has accepted several styles of mags as well with a minimal of slop and no feeding issues..
Cons:
Now for the bad. First off the box it comes in is literally as bare bones as you can get. A plastic bag over the gun and four pieces of foam to hold the gun more or less in place. a second baggy holds the Hi-Cap Magazine (which looks nothing like the one presented in the pictures) and for documentation all you get is a piece of paper with a disclaimer that "the charging handle is not functional and for decoration only don't pull back the handle...etcetera blah blah" .. well they were right, I pulled the handle back very carefully just to see the action and stretched out the spring on the first pull. Now if I touch the release the handle actually springs BACK. pitiful. One $.20 part, you couldn't bother to put a better spring on it, way to go Apex. so the charging handle does nothing (not even open the dust cover which you have to fight with to open once its closed. It has a mock bolt that doesn't move next to the rotary hop-up. also none of the controls are ambi (not even the mag release) So all in all while I see what they are trying to do They fell a little short. This is a Good lower price gun with solid features and definite upgradability. They skimped on just a few things that would have made this a respectable offering to the field. Honestly $10 more on the price point for better padding, Some documentation, and a usable charging handle (even if all it did was open the dust cover) and this would be a decent entry level gun. I would still recommend it to a new person and I'll probably adjust the spring and use it for a back up.
Good gun, all metal construction shoots well, I like the fact I can add all my attachments to the rail as is.

Cons:
I got this gun to shoot around outside with. So I got this gun and I love it there aren't many airsoft parks around me but some of my buddies go out to each other's property and play. This gun was amazing and was the best. I was able to hit my friends form a farther distance.
