Lancer Tactical Red & Green Dot Scope w/ Cantilever Mount
[I02B00 / SF14][11767 / CA-402B]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Description:
This 30mm Red/Green dot sight is compatible with many different kinds of 30mm scope mounts and is the "straight to business" type sight. Dot sights are very simple to use, once zeroed in, just put the dot onto your target and fire. The cantilever mount allows the optic to be set forward decreasing the margin of error when aiming also allowing a great field of view. The mount also elevates the scope above rail to help aim better with face masks and other face protection. Lock the mount in place with a thumb screw and you are ready to adjust the red dot to align with your shots.

Solid great looking sight! I put this sight on an m4 and it really gives it that cool tactical look! The sight is very solid, very durable and works well. Very good higher grade materials used. Extremely solid construction on both the sight and the mount. The lenses seem to be made of glass but I don't see a bb being able to shatter them. The front lens has a silver tint to it versus a ruby/gold tint. looking at the lens from the front you can still see through if looking at it straight on and the silver tinted lens seems to set back in the sight so it wont get detected easily when playing. looking through the sight you can see an extremely slight darkening tint (most likely from the silver tint on the front) but it does not seem to effect performance when playing in low light conditions. The iron sights on my gun actually line up perfectly through the sight so if the battery in the sight were to die mid game you do not have to take the sight off. You can just use the iron sights while looking threw the sight. I realize this may not work with all iron sight but the iron sights on my m4 are just standard m4 flip up sights which see to be standard height. when the sight is mounted firmly the center of the reticle stands about 1 1/2 inches off the top of the RIS rail. The lens caps are a soft plastic which flexes very well but yet are still rugged so if you drop the gun or take a dive with this sight attached they wont snap off easily or crack because of the ability to flex. Wind age and elevation actually work and work very. I was able to zero the sight in quickly with no problem. I was skeptical about the mount because it seemed to look thin in the picture, but on the contrary it is pretty beefy and is a solid piece of aluminum with a black anodized finish so it wont scratch off as easily as paint. there is a whole in the arm portion of the mount but it is only to reduce weight and does not compromise structural integrity at all. Although it only has one bolt pulling the teeth together to grip the RIS rail instead of two it surprisingly holds very tight and becomes very sturdy. I felt zero movement in the sight when attached firmly to the rail. The red and green dots both have five levels of brightness. The dot is not the brightest I have seen but it is still visible in broad day light. All in all a very good sight! Very solid, reliable, rugged and mounts easily. the batteries in the sight I received had a little less than 3/4 life but the batteries are not hard to find. I found some at my local Wal-Mart. The number on the batteries issued with the sight is LR44 which I could not find but rayovac 303/357 are the same battery and work (currently using them in the sight). the review the Pros and the Cons are just my take on the sight. things may change from sight to sight but this is a very good sight and I would not hesitate to buy another and I would quickly refer a friend to purchase this sight!
Pros:
-Good materials used
-Solid well put together sight
-Solid sturdy reliable mount
-sight walls are not to thick so its easy to shoot with both eyes open and get the hologram effect and the sight seems to disappear
- easy to adjust wind age and elevation
-easy to change batteries
-rubber harness attached to wind age, elevation, and battery cap so it on unscrews it will not become lost
-flip covers positively snap shut when
-lenses are very clear. no distortion whatsoever
Cons:
-Both red and green dots aren't the brightest I have seen and I would like to see them be brighter
-The dot is not extremely pin point focused but in no way is it terrible. Its not a $400 aimpoint so you cant expect a top shelf quality dot but in no way is the dot not focused. it is still a very good aiming reference and more than gets the job done!
-Would have liked to of seen two bolts for holding the mount to the RIS rail but the one bolt does the job very well and I don't see it coming undone plus it keeps weight down.
I bought this sight to go with my first gun with a high FPS for an outdoor field. I liked the cantilever and tube style attributes to it, as well as the lens covers and small mount. The mount is made out of a very strong metal and the sight is also very durable. However, despite my hopes, this sight greatly disappointed me. First, the sight wouldn't even turn on. I changed the batteries and it didn't work still. Another thing is that the battery compartment is really hard to open due to the rubber connector. Also, the insides of the scope block a lot of potential vision through the scope. The dot selector also didn't have any indicators for brightness or color. I also needed a riser to get it over my M4's front sight.
Pros:
Cantilever mount
Durable
Small mounting connector
Looks bad ass on an M4
Lens covers
Rubber connector will prevent you from loosing the cap for battery compartment (also a con)
Cons:
Didn't work, had to return it
Rubber mount makes it almost impossible to open compartment
No way of guaranteeing that the batteries were not already drained
Lots of lost space in sight (blocks some vision that other sights might not)
No way to tell what color and brightness its set to unless you look down the sight (and mine wasn't even working so...)
Need riser to get it high enough on an M4 with a triangle front sight.
Its mainly for looks and to help give a "Tactical" look, but in no way, shape, or form does this red dot help, it looks cool but isnt all that great aim wise, my opinion is if you want your gun to look cool then go for it, but if you looking for actual accuracy, then go buy a real red dot scope
Pros:
Looks cool, i guess
Full metal so pretty durable
Cons:
Doesnt actually aim
Only one bolt holding it to the rail

Staff Answer:
That sight may be tall enough to see over the post, however, red dot and holographic sights are meant to be used with both eyes open. Even though the front sight is in the way, your brain will compensate for this. You will still be able to see the dot and put it on target. 3932 days ago 1
