I purchased this pistol from the CA walk in store sometime before Thanksgiving on a complete whim. I had been searching for a second TM 5.1 to replace my original 5.1 since the gun is roughly 5 years old and is showing its age (slide release doesn't work well, leaky mags, bad seals etc etc). Things you would expect from a 5+ year old pistol. It's also worth mentioning that I've never used duster gas in my old TM since duster gas can be hard to come by depending on where you live/shop/play.
When I test fired it at the store, it felt extremely familiar and friendly in my hands. Crisp trigger pull, but not too sticky. The plastic slide cycles extremely quickly, so essentially it fires as fast as you can pull the trigger (very useful when running pistol only games against MP7's or other small SMG's). Very high magazine capacity of around 30 rounds or so.
Since purchasing, it's seen about 2000 rounds in various playing styles ranging from CQB to semi milsim to pistol only games, and again using green gas only. It's been dropped a few times, and hit at least 10 times, and still runs excellent. Can be a but cumbersome at times for those with smaller hands like me, but other than that, absolutely no complaints
Pros:
1. EXTREMELY ACCURATE. Once you dual in the hop up, it will have at least a 200 foot range
2. Lightweight. You almost forget that it's there until you need it
3. Durable. This may come as a shock, but TM's are made from an extremely durable plastic. It's been dropped and slammed around in the heat of battle, and keeps on shooting.
4. Gas efficient. Due to the plastic slide, it doesn't use too much gas.
5. Upgrade parts are easy to find.
6. Not very many players have them anymore. If you like different or "nostalgic" guns, this is the sidearm for you.
Cons:
1. Holsters can be semi difficult to find. I don't use a drop leg, or any kind of cloth holster, so some of the molded ones are an extremely tight fit. Try before you buy
2. This turned out to be a magazine issue, but when you get down to the last few rounds, it tends to double feed. I just don't use that particular magazine.
3. Not much else
Best pistol you can buy, no argument. IF you wanna build out a pistol and truly make it your own, get this one. This is the original, you can't beat it.
Pros:
-sooo many parts for it
-easy to work on
-mags are easy to find
-perfect for CQB
Cons:
Needed a base hi cappa to start my build on and i liked the slide style and ergonomics of the gun as i got to try it out in the asgi storefront location. ive pretty much replaced everything in it. love it
