This gun is a great gun to own as a secondary weapon. I got it last week and i was amazed as to the design, weight, and accuracy. This pistol is a must have for pistol collectors and those that want a reliable secondary. This gun takes green gas, but if you have trouble purchasing or it's too hard to find, you can subtitute the green gas with a propane silicon mix. Propane is way cheaper than green gas and gives your gun added fps and kick. The only thing is that propane stinks. all you need to do is to purchase a propane adapter with an oil resivior (this is where you would add a little silicon) attache it to the propane canister and then fill your mag. The gas is no longer green because, now you fill the air with stinky gas as you release your rounds on to your opponents. So this option would only be a biggie if you into trying to stay green if not then go with the cheaper version, I did and I saved a lot of money.
Pros:
Very easy to fire once gas is in the mag.
Holds up to 24 rounds.
Hefty and durable.
Very realistic in all aspects of firing.
You can subtitute the green gas with a propane silicon mix.
Cons:
Pricey, considering I found the same model for about $14.00 cheaper in retail stores.
The slide can get jammed if you have the slide pulled back and then you hit the decocer.
The green gas runs out very quickyl I have found, but that could be because I didn't fill it all the way.
green gas is pricey and hard to find.
Great gun, although I got it at my local Army Navy store (along with a spare mag) not on GI. All I can say is wow. Love the look and feel of this gun, the full metal gives it an amazingly realistic feel and weight. Even my family members who are competition pistol shooters love this gun. If you're looking for a reliable and realistic gun look no farther. Anything you need for this gun you can get at an Army Navy store and it takes the same parts as the 226, so it's not hard to replace.
Pros:
All metal
Weight/Feel
Hop-up is easy to get to and adjust
Fully licensed
Cons:
Price (for some people)
Some people may not like the weight
Can be annoying to find spare magazine (go to an Army Navy store, got mine there also fairly cheap gas there)
I didn't purchase this a AGI, since it has been largely out of stock, I found it at a (relatively) local shop near me. but I thought I'd throw in a few cents of input.
This is a great 1:1 replica of the real steel SIG. I purchased this pistol as a trainer, since I own a SIG Sauer P229R E2. I bought this to help train my wife and older kids on the use and function of the real steel since it is one of my home defense firearms. I am quite impressed with the build quality. It's weighted very accurately, and the ergos are to exacting standards when compared to my SIG. the decocker lever is a REAL decocker and the hammer safety works like the RS as well, meaning the only way the hammer can move is with your finger on the trigger. The packaging is a bit lame, I am not a fan of styrofoam especially for a pistol priced this high. The magazine I got with it was spot on no leaking and works well. Be careful when buying extras as they can be hit or miss. the manual that was included isn't too bad. It was quite easy to adjust hop up. By that I mean that I didn't need to adjust it too many times. Which is good because the hop up adjustment is a bit hard to reach. It packs enough of a punch for me, again, I plink with this inside and outside my home against sticky targets. I can't speak for field use, since I don't play. The blowback is crisp. I even found the sight picture to be quite similar to the real steel (6 o'clock hold) at short distances. Once you try to stretch this pistol out to more than 50 ft. it's hit or miss. I use green gase with mine, and it functions flawlessly. My one real complaint would be the wobble on the slide.
Overall, I am quite pleased with this pistol. I would never have been happy if I spent less on an inferior replica, and I believe that a MilSim or airsoft player would be quite happy with this as their sidearm It's a great piece of kit.
Pros:
Accurate representation of the Real Steel in both feel and weight
Working decocker and hammer drop safety
Crisp Blow Back
Very good quality manufacturer
Good instructions
Easy to take down (just like the real steel)
Cons:
Hop up is a bit hard to access
Cheap packaging
Comes with only one magazine
