This gun is awesome! I got this in the first Battle star 2013 mystery box so I personally got a good deal BUT looking at the price tag at 399$ I would have to say its worth every penny. This thing is extremely sturdy and built with excellence, the only problem if you count it as an problem would be that the charging handle is a TINY bit loose but that isn't a bid deal at all. This gun is perfect if you don't want the standard M4, AK, etc...since its release as well as I've had it I have seen nobody at all with a players review or even game play with this gun so you would definitively have a gun not that many people have as far as I have seen at least. I would suggest a stubby fore grip, some flip up sights, and a nice holo replica to just tear up you opponents up with this beast of an AEG! :) HIGHLY SUGGEST THIS AEG.
Pros:
- Extremely good build quality/attention to detail (Aluminium build with only polymer part being the charging handle, the crane stock, and the motor grip)
- Real trademarks
- Crane stock (a lot better than a PEQ battery box in my opinion) you also have a billion choices because of the M4 buffer tube
- Good FPS for a field gun
- Good range/accuracy put in a 6.03 tightbore for giggles
- M4 mag compatibility so basically everyone on the field has mags/ammo for you if you need any lol
- Very good weight, very light in my opinion considering its full metal
- Has just enough rails for anything you need like iron sights, holos, red dots, flash lights, etc.
- Split gearbox (Easy spring swap in my opinion if you want to downgrade the spring for CQB)
- Has a spot for a QD sling swivel on both sides by where the buffer tube is attached to the gun
- Comes with a 120 round mid cap (Can be a con if you like high caps)
- Great ROF on an 11.1 lipo in my opinion
- You can store a small stick type lipo in the upper receiver but its a hard fit and not as easy
- Different (NOT an M4 or AK)
Cons:
- Battery storage if you want to use a bigger battery (I suggest a battery bag on the stock, I use a 11.1 lipo 4000mah)
- Loose charging handle (Not very noticeable at all)
- Comes with a 120 round mid cap (Can be a con if you like high caps)
- Doesn't come with battery and charger but thats normal for high end guns (Get yourself a lipo and lipo charger)
- Doesn't have the external customization that an M4 has but who cares right? lol
- I can't think of anything else.....you will look too cool lol
I have had one for a while and like it. As delivered, the motor was set too high and some loctite is needed on the screw that holds down the fire selector (if loose, this will cause the gun not to fire at the most inconvenient times). . The monolithic upper/rail is very nice, and the finish quality is extraordinary. The pin that holds the upper to the lower can be pushed through like a proper pin, allowing quick take-down. LIkewise, the outer barrel is secured with a single hex-head screw, and fits very nicely into the upper. The split gearbox is a plus. Just be careful when reassembling it so as not to damage the tappet plate, and go easy on the plastic tab at the front of the upper gearbox section.
Pros:
Excellent finish quality. Solid feel. Quick take-down. Reasonably good accuracy and range. TOTALLY unbeatable for what I paid (got it as a GI Shocker). I would highly recommend it to anyone on a budget, provided they are able to make minor adjustments. I believe the externals and gearbox are very solid. If you can get it as a GI shocker, it's 5-stars from a cost/performance point-of-view. I gave it four because of a few relatively minor flaws that would have been surprising at full retail.
Cons:
Motor needed adjustment out of the box. Fire selector came loose (needs loctite on screw). I had to put a spacer under the mag-release lever to allow mags to slide in smoothly. The battery lead runs over a sharp corner when exiting the upper, and the stock cannot be put into the shortest position because of the connector (luckily, I'm tall). None of these are show-stoppers. But, you will need to tweak them in order to get a smoothly operating unit. No problem for what I paid, but would be disappointing at full retail.

Staff Answer:
While this gun may be 11.1V LiPo ready, Airsoft GI does not recommend the use of 11.1V LiPo batteries as they may cause excess stress on the internals of this airsoft gun. However, a 7.4V LiPo will offer comparable performance to a 9.6V battery, and use of such is covered under Airsoft GI's warranty.

Tenergy LiPo 7.4V 1000mAh 20C Butterfly Pack (Battery) [Link] 3531 days ago 0
