The Maple Leaf RTX Flat Hop Up Nub for your AEG is a nice upgrade for increased range and accuracy. Similar to other 'flat hops', this nub is more concaved to the match the shape of the BB. This nub allows for more contact area and precise points of pressure around the BB instead of just on the top. If this nub is paired with the right barrel, the user will obtain more range and accuracy. However, in order for this nub to work properly, the inner nub inside the bucking ( if applicable ) must be removed. Constructed out of a harder rubber material, this nub will retain its shape after many uses. The collaboration with the proper bucking and barrel would result in a definite increase in range and accuracy.Specifications:

Product Information:
I tried the regular Maple Leaf bucking with a standard nub and the performance was decent.
The Maple Leaf bucking really should include this nub because after installing it I saw significant improvement.
I have this in a stock Echo 1 SOF 3 (FAL look-alike) hopup chamber with the Maple Leaf 75degree bucking with an ICS SIG hopup arm and a prometheus 6.03mm 509mm long barrel. I'm reaching out around 175ft with 370FPS with a 0.25g.
Pros:
Works well with the Maple Leaf bucking but could also be used for a flat hop. I haven't tried it yet, but I'd be curious to try.
Cons:
Should honestly come with the bucking, but that's airsoft for you.

Works really well with the modify flat hop bucking combined with a magicbox TOT inner barrel. Big difference in accuracy and range. I use them in my SR10 and ICS Par MK3 MTR. I recommend nothing less than a .28g bb.

do i still need to cut the hop up mound if i use a maple leaf bucking
if i use this nub with a maple leaf bucking do i need to cut the mound in the bucking.and what would be better for a flat hop this nub or a modify flat hop bucking and nub

Airsoft GI says that you should use a standard bucking and shave the nub with this. Some people are saying that they use this + a maple leaf bucking with the leaf mound still installed. They are saying that is correct but Airsoft GI is stating this to be a flat hop nub that was not designed for the other maple leaf buckings because this was designed for a different purpose, other nubs are made for the maple buckings. Get a standard bucking and watch youtube clips about flat bucking mods. Or purchase a modify flat hop set that comes with a flat bucking and nub. I have the modify and I am buying this to compare performances between the 2 nubs, this nub and the modify flat nub..

You need to shave off the mound in the bucking, watch youtube for that. Flat bucking modification or something.
