JG M4 SOPMOD RIS AEG Airsoft Rifle (Black)
[P10B00][05778 / AE-5861-T]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
The JG M4 SOPMOD is a phenomenal new gun from JG. Forget the JG you think you know, they've turned over a new leaf and have broken into the market for high quality airsoft guns. The internals of this gun are the same reliable, hard hitting internals that are equipped in the JG Enhanced AEGs. The exterior of this M4 is solid! The barrel and rail system does not wobble at all despite the multipiece construction. The RIS hand guards are full metal and provide a firm foundation for mounting accessories. Finally the crane stock is very well made, it houses the battery to hide the wires and allows the user to adjust the the gun to their preferred length. When in use the gearbox sounds like a well oiled machine, smooth as silk.

I bought this about a year ago Its been broken for about 4 months the body is cracked and the wirering is messed up im not sure the exact problems with the wires but they dont work. Also the buttstock broke after i was in the field and kinda threw it on the ground not hard it was like a drop but a little more force full but otherwise it was a preety good gun while it lasted just treat it with care
Pros:
shoots well
metal ris
decent gearbox
Cons:
plastic body
plastic stock
wiring
not very durable
I didn't buy this gun from here, I got it off of eBay. But anyway, this gun has solid externals for a plastic body, hardly any wiggle at all. The one piece outer barrel is also nice, so it has very little wiggle, and the crane stock is sooooo comfortable.
However, as with a previous JG I've owned, the internals are in serious need of upgrading. When I finished cleaning the gun, the air nozzle broke. After inspecting the piece I found it was made from a very cheap plastic. I would highly recommend buying a better air nozzle.
Pros:
Solid externals.
Flip-up rear sight
Metal rail
Extremely comfortable crane stock
Decent accuracy
Cons:
Air nozzel is made of a very cheap plastic. I recommend buying a new one.
No bolt catch
Bottom rail requires modification to attach vertical/angled fore grips.
The JG SOPMOD M4 is a decent gun overall. With the price being around $150 you cant expect top-level quality, but it certainly does the job.. for the most part at least. The upper receiver is made of a not-so-solid plastic material while the rest of the gun is either metal or high quality polymer. After firing it for quite some time, it displays very good FPS yet it leaves some to be desired in the rate of fire aspect. Another thing that is a HUGE problem is that the RIS isnt a standard size! After attempting to fit on a regular stubby grip, no matter how hard i tried, it wouldnt fit. The plastic "heat guards" fit on it alright but basically nothing else that requires you to slide on the attachment. However on the other hand, the FPS level is truly very good and the gun is incredibly accurate right out of the box. The size, feel, weight, and look of the gun are top-notch. I tended to focus on the negatives in this review, but overall i still really like this gun and feel confident in the purchase considering its SUPER high performance despite its small flaws and mainly plastic components. There are many things that I love about this gun (listed in the pros) that you should be sure to check out, but also be wary of the problems i listed in the "cons" section as well. Again, its a good gun and I like it very much but it does have its problems.
Pros:
Great FPS
Looks nice
Feels quite solid
The stock is very comfortable and easy to work with
Size and weight are reasonable, yet realistic
VERY accurate
comfortable
VERY nice flip-up iron sights
VERY solid metal outer (and of course inner) barrel that is SUPER durable and high quality
Cons:
Cheap heat guards that break within the first 5-10 minutes of use at BEST
RIS system doesnt fit most standard "slide on" attachments
Plastic receiver (NO, its NOT a polymer material)
HUGE battery
