Ok first please note that we got this a long time ago and things could have changed with the way the gun is made.
My brother has always been fond of the ak-series of guns, and when this first came out he started drooling. I didnt like the ak guns but CYMA made a pretty good ak-47, (we both had one) and dan wanted to upgrade. At the time upgrading was a LOT more expensive and didnt have a very good success rate. so what he did was he purchased this gun. FOR 20 BUCKS! thats right. 20 bucks. he bought it as a parts gun from a local store and just used the body with his old ak-gearbox and the spring from this gun (which actualy chronoed' in at close to 400 fps w/.2) into the gun. If i remember correctly, the gun had a PLASTIC gearbox. anyway, he upgraded it and to my knowlage, the gun still works.
for summery, refer to the pros/cons
Pros:
light-weight
very slick
looks bad A$$ with the scope mounted on it
fully automatic
stock works on normal ak bodies. barrel too.
can be used as a support weapon
Cons:
plastic gearbox
not very strong construction
small mag (good if a sniper)
stick battery is tight fit
overall i would say a good gun for the new player, if you have past airsoft exp and want a sniper, keep looking. if you are a new/er player than this might be the right choice, but you WILL have to upgrade to a better gun sooner than later.

The earlier edition of this gun was the first AEG I ever owned. I actually used it in a role like that of an RPK, using extra AK mags and the bipod to great effect. In that regard this is not half bad, but it lacks the accuracy of a decent DMR. Perhaps a tightbore barrel would help, but stock it is better suited as a poor man's RPK.
The stock did wobble over time and I ended up wrapping the upper forward portion with electrical tape which helped immensely. If, like I was at the time, you are looking for a light support weapon and can't swing $300 for a SAW or RPK, this is not a bad entry level gun. If you want an SVD to use in a DMR role, this will require a moderate degree of modification to fill that role and it will never be a faithful replica of an SVD.
Pros:
- Closest thing JG has to an RPK.
- Bipod fairly sturdy.
- Compatible with AK mags, no proprietary SVD mags required.
- Great accuracy for a stock JG.
- Could be upgraded to perform fairly well in DMR or as a Frankenstein LMG.
Cons:
- Not an SVD. This is an AK with SVD furniture.
- Pot metal construction.
- Poor accuracy for a DMR. Better suited for LMG role out of the box.
- No means of mounting any optics or accessories.
- Plastic furniture that isn't terribly sturdy.

If you're in the market for a cool looking rifle, shooting from a distance, and like playing the bad guy, then this is the rifle for you. Got this about two years ago and run this as my go-to primary.

Staff Answer:
You would likely need to source such a part from a boneyard rifle. As those parts aren't often supplied for sale. 2538 days ago 0
