[P08B00][02410 / F6618 / AE-5866-T]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
This VN-style M16 is a great replica of the ones used by the US military in Vietnam. It comes with a full stock that will accept most large battery packs. The working charging handle gives this gun a realistic action that even higher priced guns like CA do not have. JG AEGs are fully upgradeable and compatible with most after market external and internal parts. This airsoft gun includes a metal VN-style magazine and is also compatible with other major brands of standard and high capacity after market magazines. This gun is a must buy for those looking for a good priced starter gun.

I was looking for my first AEG, and I saw this on my second day of searching. I didn't want an M4, because those are too mainstream, but I didn't want something totally unique. I also love the older style battle rifles. So I decided to buy this gun. Long story short, it's amazing. The Vietnam style magazine and handguard make it stick out on a field, but the AR platform makes it so that you can share M4 mags with your buddies. The FPS is great for field, though CQB might be a challenge with the length of the rifle. The 509mm inner barrel makes for great accuracy, and the full stock provides lots of space for batteries.
Pros:
Very historical look
Weight is almost the same as the real firearm (about 6 lbs)
Hi-cap magazine comes with the rifle, along with a battery and charger
Fairly sturdy feel
Rate of fire on full auto is very good
Upgrade compatable
Cons:
Mag requires winding every 15-20 rounds or so (accurate to real steel mag cap, but not great in the middle of a firefight)
Large size makes CQB hard with this rifle
Sights WAY out of alignment out of the box, need to be adjusted
NOTE-Rating as an INTERMEDIATE gun.
Okay-So this is the 3rd JG airsoft rifle I have owned so far. An AK47, an M4, and this M16A1. I've owned this one for almost 5 years and I'm sure some minor modifications have been made and perhaps the motor has gone up a generation since then. JG's have a few things about them that I just loved right out of the box. Sadly, this one missed the boat on all save the butt and the FPS/Accuracy. The butt plate and the butt stock are excellent quality, and the same used on the M4 model I have. The fore stock-a giant, hollow, thin, cheap pair of plastic shells the wiggle side to side around the barrel. Nope... Cheap. That's and issue that plagues the JG M16/M4 design. The collar where the fore stock meets the receiver is simply crap. The receiver is cheap plastic and the rear sight is poorly seated in this, which brings me to the motor. The motor for both my M4 and the M16A1 lasted 3 years of minimal use before freezing-WITH routine maintenance. Even properly oiled, they gave up the ghost and locked up.
Okay! So I've been pretty harsh on this guy-mainly because of all 3 JG's I bought, this one was the cheapest. (Quality wise) Now here is why I bought this thing in the first place. JG's do have solid accuracy for an intermediate airsoft rifle. The FPS aren't cut down to crappy 300-360s like most garbage on the market. If you want to hit something at over 50 yards, you need the FPS to do so. JG out of the box has given 400+FPS every. time. Non-competitive players will argue that close quarters demand low FPS to be safe. First, if you're afraid of pain, you're in the wrong sport. Second, if you're planning on airsofting with intermediate or competition guns, your safety equipment must also rise to the occasion.
Summary: IF you're determined to buy this gun-do as I did. Buy some quality gun wrap and wrap the front half. It reduced the rattle and made it feel more quality. Wanna get extreme, find a filling for the hollow fore stock. Next, be prepared to buy a backup gearbox. The motor should be just fine.
Pros:
Good motor, battery, butt assembly, and front site.
Strong FPS, reasonable accuracy.
Cons:
Trashy fore stock, rear site, and receiver assembly.
Weak gearbox prone to freezing.
Great gun if your interested in the Vietnam War era of military history. Has worked flawlessly since I got it with no problems at all. Very happy.
Pros:
Great for Vietnam War reenactments
mostly fateful replica of the real thing
Sturdy strong felling gun
No problems for me at all
Cons:
No rails for attachments (obviously)
small mag (again obviously)
box was a little damaged (probably happened during shipping)
