The CXP-APE is a unique lightweight and versatile rifle. Externally, this rifle features a plethora of ambidextrous controls such as the fire selector, magazine release, and bolt release. The charging handle can be easily switch from the left or right side. With these features, whether you are a left / right handed shooter or for those that simply prefer to transition between corners can access these controls with ease. The upper / lower receiver in addition to the front assembly are made out of aluminum for durability without increasing the overall weight of the rifle. Keymod design allows the user to mount accessories at certain locations without increasing weight of unused rail space. The stock features six positions of adjustment for length while the cheek riser has five points of elevation adjustment. With the right height and length to provide the proper comfort and eye relief if using an optic. A monolithic upper rail featured offers an uninterrupted surface to mount optics and accessories. Internally this rifle features a unique system, when the rifle is put into safe, the anti reversal latch is released to alleviate spring tension especially during storage to prolong the life of the rifle. The main drive train components consist of torque up motor, steel gears, reinforced polycarbonate piston with eight steel teeth, and polycarbonate ported piston head with ball bearings. All these components combined provide a very stable, long lasting, performance rifle out of the box. Overall with a very strong external build to withstand heavy use in addition to a solid internal setup would make this airsoft gun out perform others on the field.Specifications:

Product Information:
I've had this out for a couple of events now. It handled very well. Weight did not seem horrible despite being full metal, probably because balance seemed good. Overall the rifle felt solid and cycled smoothly. I won't speak to the EBB since I changed out the piston with a non-EBB upgrade piston. (The stock piston is half metal tooth rack ... I wanted full metal tooth). While in the upper gearbox I was pleased to see an upgraded spring guide.
Pros:
Full metal provides a solid platform, and the hand guard shape is comfortable to hold without a vertical grip. The stock motor could pull a M130 spring. No problem with mag compatibility or bb feeding. The spring tension release works great. The stock allows use of brick lipo
Cons:
Do not buy this thinking you will interchange with other ICS hop up or upper gear box. The hop up is built just different enough to prevent use on my ICS CXP (and vice-versa). Even if ignoring the EBB aspect, the upper gear box exterior shape is different and the set up uses a V3 air nozzle.
You will need to be careful with wiring if wanting to use the folding stock. The wire is exposed when folded. And you must ensure there's some play within the battery compartment. The wire pulls out a bit when folding the stock, so if wiring can't easily slide back into the battery compartment (because you cram in the battery & wires like I do), there's risk to accidentally crimp the wire when putting the stock back into normal position (like I did).
