The Hatch Operator Shorty Gloves are possibly the best value for money in regards to hand protection. The palm of the gloves are 100% leather and the back/knuckles are 100% kevlar. The leather ling on the palm and fingers are made with extra padding where recoil is felt on the hand; also the knuckles have extra padding, a perfect bumper for BB hits when the user is holding a gun. The trigger finger on each glove has an extra leather ring by the first knuckle so they can be cut without fraying the rest of the glove. Hatch has become a leader in the law enforcement glove market since 1967. They have used their experience in gloves to create other protective/tactical gear for uniformed duty, tactical, corrections, military, industrial safety/medical rehabilitation personnel. These were the first pair of real tactical gloves I ever received. My dad, who used them for 5 years on SWAT, passed them on to me. They still fit great and are some of the most comfortable gloves that I've ever worn. The padded knuckle is a lifesaver in airsoft. It really helps deaden the blow of getting a BB to the knuckles.
Another interesting feature is that you have the ability to cut off the tips of the thumbs and index fingers on the gloves without the finger itself starting to fray and come apart, which really increases the dexterity of your weapon-handling. Overall, I would definitely recommend these gloves
Pros:
- Durable (Have lasted over 8 years of hard, continuous use.)
- Comfortable and breathable.
- Able to cut off index finger and thumb of glove.
- Padded area over knuckles helps protect that area in CQB.
- Look really cool with any loadout.
Cons:
- High price (You are paying for quality and durability, but you could buy two pairs of Mechanix gloves for the same price).
- Only come in black.
- Airsoft GI doesn't carry them in Small (The size I have).
