I bought this gun last winter so I have gotten a decent amount of trigger time with it this season. It is an amazing looking and feeling AEG. The 416 rail is oh so nice and the textured motor grip and all the ambi features really push this rifle over the top on the cool factor scale. VFC's are probably my favorite AEGs on the market and these 416 A5s do not disappoint. The only drawbacks for me were first the overall weight. It is heavier than your typical ful metal M4. With the 1-4×30 G&G Elcan Spectre replica and other accessories that I have on mine puts the gun at just over 9lb. (The optic does weigh over a pound) So you will definitely want to run a sling with it. Second, When I got mine the motor height needed to seriously be adjusted and the gun had a problem not firing in full auto. I found by running a higher C rated 11.1 lipo solved the issue. I switched out the Titan Power Lithium Ion 11.1 2600mah knunchuck I was originally using for a Turnigy Nanotech 2000mah 25C 11.1 and haven't had that problem since. The gun would still lock up every now and then when firing rapidly in semi but I eventually upgraded the motor to an ASG 35k High Torque/High Speed and it has solved that issue. Other upgrades done to the replica are a Prometheus 6.03 tbb and a Madbull Blue Bucking. And I have to say the gun absolutely rips! I'm getting 24-25rps on the 11.1 lipo and kills well over 200ft every time out. The gun does shoot harder than the 350-360 that its advertised as on this site. Mine came shooting 395-410fps with .20s and after 15,000+ rounds through it the spring has settled nicely right around 390-395. So it's perfect for ourdoor medium to long range engagement distances. The stock Avalon hopup is also pretty impressive. It was able to lift .40s consistently and that makes the accuracy of the gun just awesome at the longer ranges. The mag compatibility is also great with the A5. I typically run EPMs but have run Hexmags, Elite Force 140 rounders, KWA K120s, and G&P mid caps also with the gun and had zero issues with fitment or feeding with any of them. Overall this is a great premium AEG that I highly recommend to anyone in the market for a very solid, fully licensed, and great performing airsoft gun.
Pros:
-Amazing external build quality. The fit and finish on the gun are its best attribute in my opinion.
-Very Upgradable platform
-Fully licensed H&K trades
-Rock solid Avalon Internals
-Upgraded Mosfet
-Great stock hopup.
-Come on. It's an HK 416 A5.
Cons:
-It's pricey.
-It's heavy even without accessories.
-Stock motor might need to be upgraded right away.
-Did I mention it's heavy.
