One glance at any VFC airsoft product and you can tell that the replica oozes with quality. The new VFC Avalon series is no different from the rest. The VFC Avalon VR16 rifle is one of many amazing rifles that VFC has introduced to their product line. Externally, these guns feature a top monolithic rail, giving you lots of rail real estate for optics, lasers and other accessories. The gun also features a KeyMod rail with rail segments at the front. This makes the gun much more lightweight when compared to a rifle with a full rail system. But it still gives you options for necessary attachments whether they're mounted to the front or attached via the KeyMod system.
The 2nd-generation VFC Avalon Calibur Carbine Rifle is built for CQB battle in indoor or urban environments. It has a full metal receiver and barrel that gives it the realistic feel of an actual VR16. You can order a black or bronze Avalon AEG from Airsoft GI to match your unit's needs. This weapon has cool aesthetic and functional features to bring the hailstorm on the battlefield. The receiver is engraved, and for the extra flash factor, the trigger is flat and shaped like a lightning bolt. Other features include an ambidextrous safety selector, a functioning bolt catch, flip-up rear and front sights and their new QRS stock for easy adjustments and ease of access into the battery compartment. What separates these guns from the rest is that they are built internally with an inline MOSFET, a quick-change spring system, smooth ball bearings, a steel-toothed piston and a robust version 2 gearbox and long type motor. This design makes it amazingly snappy and fast out of the box. Well I managed to get this gun a week or 2 back, got it before they decided to make it a pre-order deal. So far, I love the gun. I mean, it is a VFC and they're a trust worthy manufacture. Shoots great and mine was shooting at about 385 to 390. Love that its a all metal gun and that it has keymod rails.
Pros:
all metal material
lots of rail space
easy to get to battery compartment
flip up sights
Cons:
As of right now, I have no cons for the gun

Gun feels amazing in your hands. It's a little heavy at first but you get used to it. Shoots about 380 fps out of the box so i had to get it downgraded for cqb but that was no big deal. The motor, hopup unit, and gear set shoot amazing hitting close to 25 rps with an 11.1 lipo. u wont need to touch the gear box the only thing i am planning on upgrading is the inner barrel (every stock gun could use this) and maybe hopup bucking. Overall fantastic gun and i personally like it over the krytac trident series.
Pros:
-Feel solid
-internals are sweet
-externals are sweet
-qrs mag and stock look and perform perfectly
-great rps
-solid accuracy
-super easy to adjust hopup bucking
-great stock gun don't really need to replace anything
-good ergonomics
Cons:
-stock was a little wobbly
-flashhider is ugly and hard to get off
-little long for cqb
-heavy
-picky with mags and most will wobble a little bit.

Out of the box this gun is awesome. Mine was shooting 418fps, but settled down to 390 after the spring was broke in. I love the feel of this gun. A little heavy, but feels like a real rifle. Has definetly held up to a full day of play. The only thing I donÂ’t like is the battery compartment in the stock. Have to mess with getting the battery to fit. Not an issue unless you have to change batteries while in play. But over all this is a fantastic out of the box gun!

Can this rifle take KWA magazines?
I have several spare mags from KWA, and I'd prefer a rifle that is compatible with them so that I don't have to buy new mags.

It will not, unless you replace the magazine release on the rifle, as the KWA magazines are built to a smaller spec than the VFC magazine wells, causing them to fall straight out of the rifle. 2263 days ago 2
