First impressions are great. When I opened the box it looked like a real AKM (which I have shot the real version). This is an eye pleaser right away. Then you shoot it...and its like HOLY GUACAMOLE! The wood on it is plywood but you cant really tell this unless you look closely, but trust me, its strong. the only plastic on this gun is the tip and the grip and like one other obscure part. The weight is like half a pound off the real AKM. solidly built. I traded mine after several years of use for an Umarex MP7. the only the reason i traded it was because I play at a very close quarters arena: this is a field gun. it is useable in CQC but I prefer my WE Glock or the MP7 for CQC. For a field its great. The FPS is outrageously high and it has made everyone I've shot with it bleed so i changed the spring out for an S90.
Pros:
-Heavy
-Well constructed and has great attention to detail (one feature being that the cleaning rod comes out like the real thing)
-very accurate and powerful (out of a 16 person game it has a 6 person kill average per game, its that good)
-mags hold a buttload of ammo (600 ct)
-full metal, yes, when i say full metal, i mean full metal. seriously the only plastic is the tip, the grip, and an obscure internal piece.
-has that little thing on the side so you can attach a rail
-did i mention this gun causes spontaneous gungasms on sight?
Cons:
-wood is plywood
-the high fps can be a pro or con depending on how you look at it. i wasnt allowed at games because of the power
-If you plan on running the tip into a suburban parked in the middle of a field, the tip WILL CRACK. trust me, i know from experience...
honestly i cannot think of any other cons except the size sucks for CQC, but its a full size AK, not a SMG.
awesome gun for any one who's starting airsoft or people who have played for years. it's a really stable gun shoots far out of the box and looks realistic to a real gun.
Pros:
430 fps out of the box
600 rd clip
very sturdy
very realistic
and just awesome
Cons:
only really have two cons
1) stock wobbled a little bit but very easy to fix
2) it takes a little practice to get the clip in
other than that this gun is awesome.
Echo 1 Red Star AKM
Pros:
Solid Internals
Nice ROF (i use 11.1v lipo)
Accurate at medium distances
Feeds beautifully with cyma 150rd mid caps
Cons:
Knot in the wood handguard (just luck of the draw)
Wobbly rear sight that came off after a month and I had to RMA
Picky with magazines, it's hard to get mags in and out but cyma mid caps feed exceptionally well once they're in

Staff Answer:
This gun may come with a butterfly key to wind the magazine. Check the side of your magazine for a small round hole, as this is the point where the key interfaces with the magazines' winding wheel. 3559 days ago 0

Will these batteries fit?
Will the "Tenergy 11.1V 1600mah LiPo Mini Battery Package" fit in the butt-stock of this AKM? And what about the "SOCOM Gear 11.1V 1500mah LiPo Mini Battery Package"? Thank you!

Staff Answer:
Both should fit. Airsoft GI only recommends a 9.6v NiMH or a 7.4v Lipo battery however. 3880 days ago 3
