The Echo 1 GAT or General Assault Tool from Airsoft GI is one of the latest SMG from Echo 1. The GAT has been talked about for years while in the making, and now that it is here, airsoft players all agree it was well worth the wait. Unlike other AEPs, the GAT uses a full-size gearbox, which puts it and its owners at a huge advantage in terms of upgradability. This is a gun that will grow with your skills and evolve with the games you like to play and the tactics and strategies you devise.

Besides its imposing looks, this gun boasts a blazing-fast rate of fire. Coming standard with 8mm steel bearings, a steel gear set, a ported piston head and a metal base spring guide, the GAT is ready to handle high-speed builds, or even higher FPS build, thanks to its standard-sized gearbox.

The construction of the GAT is a steel upper receiver and a polymer lower, like the real firearm, so you have the added realism and rigidity without adding a ton of unnecessary weight. It's light enough to carry comfortably but heavy enough to feel authentic.

The included, removable front foregrip also doubles as the battery compartment for the GAT. The 8.4V mini battery included with this gun fits nicely, but you should be able to fit buffer tube style LiPo batteries without much sweat, giving you extra trigger response and rate of fire without touching the internals.
