Echo 1 GAT (General Assault Tool) AEG Airsoft SMG (Black)
[P02D00][20431 / ECHO AEG GAT (JP-103)]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
Since its inception the Echo1USA brand has strived to provide clients with uncompromising quality of products and customer service. As avid Airsoft players themselves, they are able to understand the needs of the sport and the frustration with inferior products. Echo 1's commitment to yielding the finest most affordable Airsoft Guns and Accessories on the market today is steadfast, and remains the foundation of they're continued success.
The Echo1 GAT or General Assault Tool is the latest SMG from Echo 1. The GAT has been talked about for years while in the making and now it is here and is worth the wait. The GAT uses a full size gearbox that is upgradable and will be better performing than any other AEP's or even the GBB SMG's out on the market. The full size gearbox comes equipped with 8mm steel bearings, a standard steel gear set, a regular piston and ported piston head and a metal base spring guide. The GAT can be upgraded for high speed builds or even high fps due to the standard parts used. The short barrel is a high quality brass barrel that is crowned and using a MadBull bucking so you get a great shot with range out of the box. The stock fps is around 340 to 350 and you are able to hit targets out to 150+ feet in semi and full auto modes making this a great compact gun. The construction of the GAT is a steel upper and polymer lower like the real firearm so you have that added realism and rigidity without the unnecessary weight. The battery is housed in the front grip. An 8.4v mini battery is included but you can use a buffer tube styled lipo that will boost the rate of fire and give you more bbs down range. The Echo1 GAT is a compact full sized AEG that will change the way you play CQB or field games.

Mine came shooting 344fps on average with .20g out of the box. The gun is very solid and simple to take apart and maintain. You can buy a threaded barrel adapter (14mm CCW) to attach a suppressor for I believe $15, but does not come with a threaded barrel. Also does not have any add-ons for a buffer tube, but with modification you can use a JG or similar type buffer tube and screw to add one.
Pros:
Solid Internals
Extremely accurate and has decent range for a gun designed for CQB, (I play mainly outdoors with friends, and am able to compete or beat other AEG's in range with the hop up turned down).
Two high cap metal magazines, have not had any feeding issues with mine
Decent rate of fire, fine tuned enough to make consistent accurate shots
Magazines are fairly cheap
Easy to access hp-up
Full-metal with realistic weight, sling points, and lower rail section
Cons:
Battery location kind of sucks. It's housed in the front grip which i did not find very comfortable for my hands, and can be a pain to install other batteries other than the factory one.
Uses only specific mags made for the gun, CANNOT use mp5/mk5/ump45 mags
No threaded barrel, (though you can buy the adapter).
If using the echo 1 drum mag, (at least with mine), the mag can be hard to release, though the straight stick (come with the gun) type have no issues.
Echo 1 GAT. This gun has a great weight to it. The top portion and gear box is made of metal. The gun comes "lipo ready" they say, and they mean it!. I use way heavy bbs in this thing .3g! The bbs move slow yes but they hit HARD and fly straight through the wind that blows lighter bbs off target. Definitely CQB must have, it has intermediate range but I use this as a BAMF side arm.
I've purchased the drum mag for this and it feeds great and holds plenty of ammo. With several twists of the charging handle you have easily another 60 bbs. Doesn't hold more than that it seems. But if you are using high cap mags like myself it's the go-to option. The profile of the gun over all is smaller with it on, and it's the most bad ass one hander on the field. I bought the adapter threw on an echo 1 (brand loyalty) tracer unite and echo 1 7.4v lipo and it's just a beast. Plan on high torque motor and m130-m140 spring to come as my next step up with this gun.
Pros:
You will MOB CQB
Full metal internals
Lipo works great 7.4v
Hops 3g BB (falls short w/ higher weight)
Metal construction and weight of gun
How badass it looks with attachments
You Will MOB cqb
Cons:
Have to buy adapter 14ccw
Front handle kills the look but is very useful
8.4v came with not 9.6
No rear upper attachment point for red dot
Pretty fun little gun, had lots of fun running this CQB at my local field.
Pros:
Battery and charger
2 magazines
Decent battery space battery will go in the grip.
Cons:
I broke the little spring by accident by over stretching it, when pulling the charging handle back so be warned
