E&L AKS74MN Essential A107 Gen 2 AEG Airsoft Rifle (Black)
[38194 / EL-A107S]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
E&L is one of the younger companies in the airsoft industry but is quickly becoming known for manufacturing some of the highest quality airsoft guns on the market. E&L creates their AK AEGs in the same process used to create the airsoft gun's firearm counterparts; however, E&L uses a process which changes the stamped steel AK receivers from a firearm component into a shell capable of accepting a Version 3 Gearbox. E&L is focused on making their line of airsoft guns as aesthetically realistic as possible. E&L Airsoft has teamed up with other companies in the airsoft industry to produce high performance and high quality internals for their AEGs. All E&L AKs use standard Version 3 gearboxes which can accept any Marui-compatible components.

I bought this gun a week ago and I can't say I regret it. It feels great in the hands and is clearly a very sturdy gun.
As is typical with E&L, the magazine is retained in the magwell beautifully, with absolutely no wobbling from the magazine while it's locked in place. I love that the battery is stored under the dust cover rather than the front sight block, which gives plenty of room for batteries. The only thing I don't particularly like is that mine appears to be refurbished (which I'm totally fine with), but the safety/fire selector is bowed out a little bit, not flat like it's meant to be. I honestly almost like that my gun is refurbished rather than brand new because I like its slightly weathered look. I'm yet to test fire it, but I trust that Airsoft GI gave me a quality product, refurbished or not. Also, although I like the protective quality of it, the gun is coated in a layer of oil. It protects the gun but it is going to have to be cleaned before use.
Pros:
Looks great, realistic build
Realistic weight, about 8 pounds
Plate inside magwell prevents over insertion of magazines
Magazine locks in tight with no wobble
In my opinion, the refurbished look is a nice touch
Comes with extra fuse and oil in the box
Battery stored under the dust cover
Cons:
Bowed out fire selector, easily fixable but still annoying
I was in the market for a realistic looking airsoft ak, i was not disappointed when this arrived and I took it out of the box. The gun has a great weight to it and shoots amazingly.
The mag that came with it was a little eh not wanting to feed after i loaded it but nothing a few gentle persuasion couldn't fix. Luckily i had more mags from my other Ak
Pros:
Great look and feel
Shoots amazingly
Cons:
my mag out of the box didn't work at first till I hit it a few times on the counter
Purchased this because I wanted to try a non-marui body-style ak platform, and it was a bit cheaper than LCT.
Folks who have E&L's really love them, and it is easy to find online communities of people modding real-steel magazines, wood kits, and other parts to fit these. Certainly a contender for best weapon-feel in an aeg _$300. New replicas in general, but this one especially, clean your barrel and hopup feed tube before first use; the factory oil applied to the body had gunked these areas badly on mine.
Pros:
Steel. Other than the grips, everything here is actual steel, not zinc/aluminum. Suggest keeping a thin wipe of oil on the externals, because this gun will rust!
Neo-motor out of the box
Silver-wired
FPS right at 390-400 on my chrono. Factory chrono slip reads 388.
Internals sound good: gen2 stock parts need no upgrades, even the little stuff is above average (nozzle has an oring and etc)
Comes with a midcap
Cons:
Picky on mags. The stock mag works, as do bluebox (guarder) 5.45 style mags. My cyma 7.62 style mags fit, but a (jg? cyma?) 5.45 I own does not. Steel body will break plastic mag lips too if you aren't careful.
Basic mosfet would have been nice
Muzzle not -14mm, may require an adapter for tracer use
