Defcon 600 Denier Body Armor Shell (OD Green)

Product Information:
I purchased this armor as an impulse buy, and I always wanted take armor. I want to start of by saying this armor is made for short people. Probably under 5'6" I would recommend. I'm 6' and it's small. It comes up about two inches above my navel point and even with the straps fully extended it is almost right at my neck. That's the only grip I have with it. Positives are that it's thick so ill when you get shot you won't feel the sting. And when it's cold it will help keep you warm. There are two hard foam "ballistic" inserts that fit onto the front and back. I would recommend taking them out though. Too annoying. On the front there's a large spot up above the large Velcro strap that holds in place perfectly. Last but not least my favorite. The color is a perfect OD green that matches my old A.L.I.C.E. gear so that I can get that partial old 80's load out look.

Pros:
-Nice and thick. Won't hurt when shot on the torso. Thickness will also keep you warm.
-Velcro is strong. Even while moving around it won't slip out of place
-Large fuze Velcro on the front of the vest for name taps, moral patches or just whatever floats your boat.
-Comes with "ballistic" inserts for the front and back to give that extra protection look.

Cons:
-WAY too small. I had to buy extra Velcro strips and OD green cloth from Wally's World (Wal-Mart) to extend it long enough to fit me correctly.
-Might be too thick to were you won't feel any hits. Thankfully the material will give off a nice thwack sound when it's bit to hopefully aid you in knowing that you got hit.
-Thickness could also be a problem in the hear. Overheating issues.
-This is a personal grip. There's two large square blocks on top of the Velcro that messes with my A.L.I.C.E. gear straps so it makes it awkward when using that load out.

All in all once it's adjusted it's actually not too bad of a vest. If you want that old body armor look this is a pretty good buy.
