Condor Outdoor Soft Shell Jacket (Tan/M)
[D04A00][06182 / 602-003-M]The Condor Outdoor Soft Shell Jacket is a lightweight, weather resistant that is versatile for all types of weather. The outer layer is made of polyester with many pores in it that are smaller than a raindrop but bigger than a molecule of water vapor. This means that it keeps water out while still remaining breathable to allow moisture from the body to escape. Other features includes a lined stand up collar with storage space for the hood. There are two shoulder pockets, each have a 4x4" Velcro panel for patches. There are two internal pockets and two large chest pockets. On the left forearm there is a small zippered pocket. On the back is a double zipper pocket for glove storage. Under the sleeves are ventilation zippers, on the elbows are a double layer of fabric for reinforcement while crawling. This is the perfect solution for a tacti-cool look that won't burn a hole in your wallet.

I got mine from ASGI in December of 2010, shortly before becoming involved in a 4 month long ordeal. See my Review on the OE Tech MOLLE Assault Pack (Tan) for details. This Jacket was the second in 3 pieces of Gear that kept me alive in that ordeal. If you have ever stayed in Northern Nevada, next to Lake Tahoe, then you know that the weather plays all kinds of games, including Heavy Snow in Late April, of Sub-Freezing Temps both day and night between January, and March. I have worn this Jacket in all that, and heavy rain. This Jacket is perfect in anything from 5*F to 60*F. It even has pit vents, and a run through pocket on the rear, that doubles as a vent as well. Also, there are 8 pockets on this platform. The from main pockets can fit nearly anything. I put a work shirt in there even, with room to spare for gloves. the Pockets on the Shoulders are ideal for your Wallet anf Cell Phone. All 4 pockets (2 main and 2 shoulder) have inlets to run headphone wires through them. I integrated my Ipod Touch that way. That all being said, I was set for not having a car. The only thing I recommend for Sub Freezing is a Cold Gear, Under Armour type Shirt. You don't need anything more than that, unless the temps drop below 0. This Jacket was essential in doing the things I did, in the climate I was in, and staying alive. This Jacket came home with a ring od black around the neck, where the hood is also stored. Follow the wash directions on the tag, and it will come out in 1 wash, looking like nothing ever happened.
Pros:
1. Suited for most climates during Fall and Winter, even spring in some places where snow lingers for longer.
2. Offers integration in its design.
3. Carries much more than the picture suggests.
4. Comes out looking like new after being put through the paces.
Cons:
No Kitchen Sink.
This is a really good jacket. I love all the pockets, patches, etc. I wear this jacket all the time when it's cold, and it keeps me comfortable. It's not thick to the point where you sweat in 50 degree weather, but it keeps me warm when it's down to 10. I've been caught in a down-pour with this on, and I was dry as a bone after 5 minutes of continuous rain. The neck storage for the hood is really neat, because you don't always want your hood out, snagging on stuff. I love how there's the earbud ports in the breast and arm pockets. These really come in handy. Overall, this is probably one of the best jackets I've owned for this price. And Tim, those weren't pockets on the back. They are actually kidney warmers, which is why it's one big sleeve. In weather that's too cold, your kidneys start to shut down and it hurts like hell. You can use them as pockets, but it wouldn't be as good as the other pockets on the front.
Pros:
Everything.
Nice storage
Warm
Water resistant
4x4 patches on each arm
Velcro wristbands so your sleeves don't fall over your hands
Drawstring waist
Cons:
I did not find any cons with this jacket.
I have had this jacket for about one year now and have put through snow, rain, and dirt. I absolutely love this jacket it works extremely well in colder environments, I have even worn it when the temp was about 5 degrees and still remained comfortable.
Pros:
Plenty of pockets
Keeps you warm
I like the way it looks
low price
Cons:
stitching could be much better
