This MOSFET unit is great! I've gotten two, but the first one came broken, which was really disappointing, but the second one works great! This has way more features than AirsoftGI advertises, and I don't really see why they wouldn't advertise them.
Pros:
Plug and play, with the option of hardwiring it for extra features. It even comes with everything necessary to hardwire it.
Very easy to adjust how many shots per burst, each burst being between 2 to 9 shots.
Helps to protect trigger contacts, which is very helpful when used with a high voltage battery.
If you hold the trigger on full auto (which would be your burst with this MOSFET) for longer than 0.6 seconds, the gun will begin to fire again in full auto. This helps if you come across a huge crowd of people and need to spray. And 0.6 seconds is a lot longer than you might think. And if you don't like this (it's called "Resume Full-Auto"), you can disable it.
When hardwired, you have the option of pre-cocking (the piston starts halfway back, so the gun will fire immediately after pulling the trigger), sniper mode (you can only shoot once every second), LiPo alarm mode (it detects the voltage of your LiPo and will tell you when it's getting dangerously low), and rate of fire adjustment mode (should be self explanatory). You can also use it to tell you the RoF of your AEG (yeah, that's pretty cool) and set the unit to memorize the amount of shots your mag can make with your burst setting (for example, if your mag can hold 140 rounds and you're using 2-round burst, then you would set it to 70) and have it delay the gun from firing any further until a specified amount of time (this amount of change is changeable); this effectively makes it so that your gun basically stops firing when you're out of ammo, requiring you to reload until you can fire again, just like in real steel.
Cons:
The first one that I bought came broken.
It's hard to plug in as the Deans are a little oddly sized.
It wasn't free.
There's a LOT of instructions, so you'll have to take your time if you want to fully get the best results.

very good product and works like a charm. Be very care with plugging it into a battery because my connectors actually became stuck and I ended breaking the solder joint on the mosfet. Once I re soldered a not so bad deans plug on it worked like a charm! I still would definitely recommend this!
Pros:
Well built
Easy to install
A ton of settings!
Small and convenient!
Cons:
My only con is the crappy plug that came with and the fact that I broke a joint just trying to pull it apart from the battery.

Great overall mosfet out of the box
Pros:
Deans are good
Many settings avalaible
Plug and play
Burst out of the box
Cons:
Mosfet takes place in the stock (I have a vfc hk416)

Gear box damage prevention?
If this is hardwired to the gearbox will it prevent damages caused by using an 11.1 lipo? My idea was to turn the settings down keeping the rof at a more realistic rate while utilizing the powerful battery for increased trigger (motor and gear) response. Would this work?

This will only protect the trigger contacts, not the rest of the parts such as the gears, piston, etc. 3912 days ago 0

Does this have a low battery alert
Does this stop the discharge rate on a lipo from going too low? Does an alarm sound or does it just stop everything?

Its a good idea for any gun to rewire it to deans connectors. Reason being is that deans are a lot better than tamiya and the ROF and longevity of your battery will be improved
