Ares AW-338 Bolt Action Spring Sniper Airsoft Rifle (Tan)
[R14D00][10804 / ARS-MSR-008]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
There have been many great airsoft replicas of bolt action rifles in the past few years, but the ARES AW338 is by far one of the best that we have seen to date. Out of the box it comes with all the necessary equipment to dominate on the field. Included with the gun, you will receive an excellent scope mount and adjustable bipod that not only all look great on the gun, but are sure to provide a tactical advantage as well. On the rear of the stock there is an adjustable mono-pod that gives the user improved target acquisition and a stable shooting platform when used in conjunction with the bi-pod, and unlike other replicas like the L96, the AW338 has a side folding stock with a adjustable cheek rest. What really sets this sniper rifle apart from most other airsoft sniper rifles is that the magazine is actually located in the correct location. This adds a great extra element of realism to the look and feel of the ARES AW338. This gun is solidly constructed with a nylon fiber body and a CNC aluminum alloy barrel, and is spring powered, so you will never have to worry about running out of gas mid game.

Well to start off, this gun looks and feels great! The weight feels realistic, but I wouldn't recommend running around with it all day because it can be a bit cumbersome. The magazine is also a unique feature that I don't necessarily like, because it will not fire (even for testing) unless the mag is at least halfway full. The price may be worth the quality, but definitely not the performance. After about 100 rounds of Madbull .43g bb's it started slam-firing, and with inspection the sear was completely shot. So I sent it back and received it "fixed" a few weeks later. However, after 20 rounds the rifle again started slam firing. Use caution when ordering Ares products, I'm not sure about their AEG or GBB line, but after two breakdowns in one month and with it being proprietary, the company doesn't seem to be worth the problems it has.
Pros:
Good weight
Accurate
Good Range
Polymer (maybe a con for some)
Cons:
Proprietary
Weak pot metal trigger assembly
Bad sears
Doesn't include the extra muzzle piece
Low fps
