AMP Compact Combat Red Dot Sight (QD Riser Mount)
[Y03E03A][09871 / AMD20RHL]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
The AMP Compact Combat Red Dot Scope with QD Riser differs from its standard mounted counterpart in that the QD Riser allows use of the optic with full face masks as well as easier use when sighting in. The QD arm on the sight allows for very easy relocation of the optic to a new weapon system, and the included birdcage killflash acts as a sacrificial lens. In addition, the brightness turret has been relocated to the side of the optic.

I bought this sight about a month ago ever since I found out the hard way that crappy element T-1 clones (yes the one with AIMPOINT trades) are really just useless junk. I started looking for something better. I am an avid of LevelCapGaming on YouTube, and he picked up this red dot awhile back and he had nothing but glowing reviews for it. I wasn't sure how it would take the recoil of my WE GBBRS, but I decided to give it a shot. I am IMPRESSED, and I would buy more than 1 except the QD mount means you don't have to.
Pros:
Brightness settings from nearly invisible at night to very bright at high noon on a sunny day.
QD mount works quite nicely (means you only need 1 even if you have multiple guns).
The ruby lens looks quite, I've been told these can occasionally come with emerald lenses but I've only ever seen them with ruby. I'm sure it would look quite nice with emerald as well.
It comes with a "killflash" which is a honeycombed grid that goes over the front of the sight to stop it reflecting light back at people downrange. This would not be particularly useful on its own, but it also serves the purpose of making it very hard for other people to see your sight at night (combine that with a very low brightness on minumum), you will not have anyone seeing a glowing red dot and getting tipped off to your position. Most important, it's also BB proof. Yes, no more getting your super expensive red dot shot out. Well it might not withstand a 500fps at point blank, it is more than capable of deflecting BBs from a field legal AEG at about 40 feet as I found out last time I played.
Lastly, the riser both looks stylish and it will clear your forward triangle sight if you have one, so you don't have to change anything, just drop this right on. I'd assume it works decently with paintball masks and other not low profile eye pro, but it works very well with just ballistic goggles. It also is removable from the actual sight itself.
Cons:
So far I havnt discovered any issues with the sight, the killflash really is an excellent touch. The QD mount can be a bit wobbly unless you crank the screw down, which makes it hard to get off. But apart from that and the price (which is ONE HUNDRED AND TEN PERCENT worth it) that's all I can think of.
I have a few red dots from different manufacturers and this new AMP red dot is my favorite. It looks like Aimpoint's red dot without the price that'll pass most AEGs and some GBBs. This one came out perfect out of the box, I'm sure some of the $ went to the well designed box. It includes the red dot, instructions, cleaning cloth, fixed mount (if needed), tools and a battery. The instructions were not the best, but I figured how to work the QD mount. When installed, it looks very goon and functional. The mesh flash hider works as bb protection. I tried to zero it and dismount to see how good the qd mount was. It went back to zero as intended. I plan to use this on multiple guns when on skirmish. I used to run an EOtech XPS2 (real) on the field due to repeatability and reliability. Now I have a good (and cheaper) substitute. Thanks Airsoft GI. Now where's my free hat?!?! Lol I got it the day your free condor acu hat promo started.
Pros:
Height when mounted on the included riser makes it ideal when wearing full face protection
Size - from the pics, I had the impression it would be bigger. It's perfect even for smaller guns(I mounted it on a KWA HK MP7A1)
Comes with a kill flash that works as a mesh protector. No more plastic shield to make your gun look fake
QD mount zeros all the time. I got a GBB and it remains unaffected by full auto mode
Came with the 2 needed Allen wrenches and a cleaning microfiber cloth
Box was well thought of and elegant for a replica
Looks like an Aimpoint Red Dot minus the price
Cons:
Instructions could be better for people who read them
I bought this sight from my local airsoft store for $105...it is an amazing sight! It gets the job done and looks good doing it.
Pros:
-full metal
-comes with kill flash (big plus for me cuz I am gonna start playing more night games)
-is just awesome!!
Cons:
None that comes to mind except the battery was hard to install.

Battery Problem
I have been using this scope for a while and IDK if it just died on me or the battery died. Is there another battery for this or is it not good anymore?

Try replacing the CR2032 battery, I bet you could find some on ASGI, as it is most likely your battery died. If the new battery doesn't help, you may need to take it to a professional, or get a new sight (this is most likely the cheaper option)

Can you cowitness this optic with standard iron sights?
Some sights have problems with seeing the iron sights, either to high or to low. The best cowitness is when the dot is centered with the iron sights.

Staff Answer:
Even if the front sight is directly in front of the reticle, it will not matter. If you are using the red dot sight correctly (with both eyes open), your other eye will compensate and you will see through the front sight. 3896 days ago 0
