Product Information:
Wanted a support weapon, and found this gun unique in that it was Russian, not the typical US military ones. Mostly, I liked the fact that it was well priced and held more bb's than the other ones, so would do great as a support weapon indeed. The other support weapons typically hold from 2,500 bb's to 3,500 when this one holds 5,000! I must warn you, though, due to its weight and length, you will not want to be moving around too fast. It's best for someone in a team with the support role, while the other members can do the quick movements.

Pros:
realistic, comes with bipod and box mag, most capacity in box mag compared to other support weapons, impressive look and feel, easy to change spring to adjust fps, can change rate of fire via buttons, easy to change stock to wood if desired

Cons:
orange tip paint way past required 6mm, plastic flash hider, too high fps for most fields (easy to fix), heavy to hold

INTRO:

I ordered this after deciding that I wanted to be a support gunner and not some random rifleman running around like a headless chicken. You get a gun, a box mag, and a bypass plug (I'll get to that later). First thing I did was get a 5000 mah lipo battery, and wire the battery and gun to Deans.

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

The gun itself is about 46 inches in length, and probably weighs north of 20 pounds fully loaded. Carrying it around all day with no sling is doable, but you'll be bodybuilding in the field. The bipod tends to get in the way of holding the gun, so I simply unfastened it from the gun. That improved weight balance and ease of use dramatically. The box mag holds north of 4000 BBs, but the battery space in the slot provided in the mag is pretty small: My 5000 mah lipo goes in the BB area, which can impede feeding. Not a mark against the gun in any way, as I should have taken measurements. There's a pathetic fire rate adjustment MOSFET in what would be the gas tube... install the included bypass plug ASAP. I did so before I even fired this gun.

EXTERNALS:

Mostly steel. The polymer furniture is pretty sturdy, and I see no need to replace it with real steel wood furniture, as that would be expensive and hard to source. There are no real issues with the externals. The barrel change handle is actually sturdy enough to support the weight of the gun, unlike those on the M60 and MK43. The mag locks in nicely and stays in place.

INTERNALS:

Nothing of real note... standard '249 gearbox. I got it re-shimmed and re-greased and it runs fine. There is one issue, though: This thing came shooting around 460 FPS. For a full-auto gun, that is grossly unsafe. That will also tear up your gearbox with the amount of ammo you'll be putting through this gun. Furthermore, most fields won't allow 460 unless you have a permanent semi-auto DMR or a bolt-action sniper rifle, so getting a spring downgrade is pretty high on the list of priorities. Most techs will charge 10-20 bucks for a spring change. Mine shoots around 300 now. The hop up unit is pretty good... I reach out to 200 feet with no problem.

CONCLUSION:

It's a PKM... It weighs a ton and puts lots of ammo downrange. 4 stars because of the poor-quality MOSFET and shooting 460 out of the box.

Pros:
- Decently accurate
- Very little potmetal (mostly steel externals)
- Needs little internal work out of the box
- Uses the '249-style brick gearbox, which is durable as heck
- Box mag feeds well, assuming you use the battery space
- Carry handle supports the weight of the gun
- Mag has GODLY capacity
- Barrel removal is easy, allowing for easier cleaning and troubleshooting

Cons:
- Shoots 460 out of the box. That's extremely unsafe, and ASGI should post a disclaimer about this FULL-AUTO ONLY gun shooting 460.
- Weighs around 20-some pounds
- Included MOSFET was pretty janky
- If you use a large battery (which you kinda need), the battery space will be too small, meaning you'll need to put the battery in the BB space, causing some feeding hiccups.

Product Information:
I ordered this as I am my team's support gunner and my team decided we wanted to do something more than the standard U.S. load outs, and the PKM is one of my favourite machine gun systems. Out of the box it was firing an average of 443 FPS with .2 g bbs which puts it at the top end of allowable FPS for AMS support gunner regs. That being said playing with .2 g bbs is ridiculous as they are so light that they fly all over, I have found that .25 g and .28 bbs are both pretty good at keeping their accuracy at range. The externals are solid metal where the real one is metal excluding the flash hider. As was previously said remove the mosfet asap as it will kill you in a game. Unloaded it weighs an accurate 16.5 lbs, fully loaded it is pushing 20 lbs and is 47 inches long which can be a bit unwieldy if you are not used to it. I would advise getting several batteries, I use 2000 Mah batteries and get on average 1700-1800 bbs before I need to swap batteries. Also I recommend finding a metal flash hider as the one it comes with is 3.5 inches of cheap blaze orange plastic that will let anyone looking in your general direction know exactly where you are.

Pros:
-Real weight and size.
-Mostly metal.
-Hits hard and shoot far.
-Good ROF.
-Easy to take care of.

Cons:
-The mosfet will cause your weapon to cut out randomly.
-The flash hider is cheap and gives your position away quickly.

Bipod
Is the bipod locked in the downward position or it moveable. I know it sounds stupid but I just want to know. I assume it is foldable or something like that but i'm not really sure.
