What to bring to the Airsoft Field

What to bring to the Airsoft Field

Airsoft is a hobby/sport that does require the use of specific gear and supplies, and many players even experienced seem to forget. While there are quite a few things to keep track of when packing for your next day of play, we at Airsoft GI also have several tips and tricks we’d like to share to help you avoid forgetting pieces of equipment as well as increasing your enjoyment of the airsofting experience.

Essentials

The essentials of airsoft are non-negotiable and must always accompany you anytime you want to go play. These include; your primary airsoft gun, power source whether it be batteries or green gas, eye/face protection, BB’s, and a gun case/bag/box. Missing just one of these listed items can cause disqualification from playing depending on the fields’ rules.

Extras

While the essentials have been covered, there are several other pieces of equipment we’d recommend carrying to the field as well. These are items that are useful to have on the field or can come in clutch in a bind. These include; Chest rig or plate carrier, gloves, comfortable clothes, extra magazines, basic tool kit for repairs, and an unjamming rod. Each item listed serves a greater purpose and can truly offer the user a far greater and convenient experience when playing on the field.

For example: having a plate carrier or chest rig will make carrying additional pieces of gear much easier and they provide varying degrees of protection from the impact of the BB’s along with gloves. Clothing may not be essential, however wearing clothes that are comfortable and designed for the temperature of the environment will help keep you on the field longer without risk of heat stroke or hypothermia. Swapping to a new magazine will forever be faster than having to refill your current magazine, and tools are an absolute godsend on the field as someone will always have issue their airsoft guns, potentially even you.

How to make it easy

Assuming all the listed items above are included in your kit, it can be quite easy to forget to pack one of two items and this actually is quite common of an issue for many players of all experience levels. To simplify the process, using something akin to a duffel bag or large hard case is the way to go. Any case or bag with lots of storage space will allow you to have all your gear need for the day in one spot. No need to go back and forth from your car to the staging area and potentially lose your loose items. Some storage options have enough space to even carry your airsoft primary and your airsofting clothes, meaning once you arrive at the field you can change into your complete loadout, and change back into civilian clothes immediately after!

These are just a few of the suggestions we give to everyone to make their airsofting experience more enjoyable and the kits are prone to vary from person to person. This is to be expected as not everyone plays in the same style or might have different field requirements regarding equipment. Feel free to experiment with what works best for you, just keep these recommendations in mind as they can truly make airsofting a lot more fun and convenient.
