Pantac USA 1000D Cordura Molle MPS Chest Rig (OD/Tactical Vest )
[06921 / VT-C013-OD-A]Description:
The Pantac MPS is similar to the plate carrier worn by the 19th SFG. The Pantac MPS is capable of housing ballistics plate inserts for the front and back. Aside from Pantac's top-quality workmanship, what separates the MPS from other plate carriers are the integrated magazine pockets that can hold to 3 M4/M16 magazines each. This feature alone makes the MPS one of the best deals on the market today! These pockets are universal for other magazines like AK, M14, etc., and since they are integral, you still maintain the ability to add more mission specific pouches. The outer pockets can be used for a radio, handgun, smoke or flashbang grenade, etc. The front plate-carrier bib offers further real-estate for mounting modular pouches to suit your needs. There is a side release buckles to offer you in-and-out access in a hurry. Pantac make their gear out of the best possible materials and this MPS is an excellent piece of equipment that has been designed to outlast anything else in it's class.
Pantac tactical gear is a stitch above your run of the mill tactical gear. Pantac is dedicated to producing high quality tactical gear for real operators and hard core airsofters. Almost everything Pantac makes is made from 1000D Cordura. Cordura is the brand name of a fabric that's stronger and tougher than traditional nylon. See the above description. It fits it perfectly.
Word of advice, try not to add any more magazine attachments to the outside. I added dual pistol magazines and it started being too front heavy. There probably is or might be a way to compesnate for this with the straps but it's just something to keep in mind. It looks good with what it already has and possibly adding a admin pouch with pistol magazine and having the pistol be on a drop leg holster would work amazingly.
This is perfect for going prone is you read the above and it allows you to run fast without encumbering you since you have more of your limbs freed up. I am a DM and I love it because all I really need are a few extra magazines for it and a pistol. Given the size/weight of the gun I use, getting a lighter gear load is perfect so I can displace and reposition faster.
Pros:
-The vest is perfect for fast paced moving by being less bulky and all the built in magazine holsters have straps keeping them in place.
-It's light weight and openess allow a good amount of airflow so that you are not suffocating under a huge amount of weight and heat.
-Basically it does everything it's supposed to AND you can add more too it.
-If you need to go prone then as I said in the product information, do not add much more to it so it's balanced because if you don't, this gear screams speed.
Cons:
No product is perfect all around, they are just perfect for certain things :) For me this product was perfect.
I just got this vest two days ago, and since then I've been to an all day skirmish with it. I must say, it performed very well. The mag pouches are handy, and low profile, the straps are easily adjusted, and overall it is a great vest. I noticed in one of the reviews, someone talked about how the vest has poor weight distribution, and I could see why they would think that, but my full set of 10 plastic midcaps on the front, and my hydration carrier on the back balance everything out pretty well. I could see why someone would think it's unbalanced if they had metal midcaps, and no hydration carrier, but I don't have that problem. The built in pouches are handy, in the description they say that each pouch can hold 3 m4/m16 magazines, but they can only hold two each. The pouches aren't overly tight when you get them, and the velcro enclosure helps keep all of your magazines secure.
Pros:
light
breathable
MOLLE on the outside of the pouches
nice, secure pouches
padded shoulders
low profile, form fitting
inexpensive
high quality fabric
Cons:
can have poor weight distribution
not a lot of MOLLE on the front, or back
This is an awesome chest rig.
Personally I have yet to find use for the molle space, mostly because I run a belt as well. However, the fact that it has so much pocket space I can store all my spare mags into the rig. It does what it does. It's durable. I've run this through the bush, and on more than one occasion have hit the dirt. The fact that it's made of 1000D Cordura is an added bonus.
The shoulder pads are a bit stiff to start. But all that is then is just getting a few games in to break it in. Otherwise they're fairly comfortable over my CADPAT.
What I really like is that it can easily be adjusted to a smaller guy like myself, who's 180lbs, or can be worn by someone bigger. There's so much strap space. It's definitely designed for a wide range of body types and sizes. My case though I've had to tighten it quite a bit. But that's also because I run the thing a bit higher so that I have enough room for both my belt, and the hip harness of my ruck sack.
Overall, awesome rig. If you're looking for something that holds a lot of magazines, and you don't want to spend the money buying magazine pouches, this is the one!
Pros:
A: 10 Magazine capacity!
B: Very adjustable to fit multiple body sizes.
C: Durable, made of 1000D Cordura
D: Decent amount of molle real estate
E: Large buckles means you can easily ditch it with gloves on
Cons:
A: Really long straps, but that can easily be handled by cutting it down and resewing the stoppers
B: It really is meant for STANAG type magazines, if you're the type who doesn't use STANAG weapons.
C: Lacking a cumberbund, but that's a personal thing
