ARES Full Metal DSR-1 Version 2 Gas Powered Bolt Action Sniper Rifle Airsoft Gun
[R14D00][04308]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
The ARES DSR-1 is the hottest new gas sniper rifle on the market. Most of the gun is precision CNC machined for a realistic look and feel. The stock is adjustable for length, as is the monopod at the bottom of the stock for added stability. The DSR-1 has a spring loaded cheek rest, if it's in the down position just push the button and release at the desired height. The bolt system is very similar to the Star AW338, but in a bullpup design. The pistol grip is an ergonomic SPR grip for right handed shooters, and just above the trigger is an ambidextrous safety lever. The DSR is fitted with a top rail that runs all the way from the barrel back to the bolt, this is where the included scope and bipod mount to. On the underside of the barrel are guide rails for the modular rail platform to move back and forth on, this small rail segment can be used for a vertical grip or another bipod. Behind those guide rails is a spare magazine holder. This is, without a doubt, the best equipped, most accurate, and coolest looking airsoft rifle in the WORLD!

Awesome gun. I bought this with hesitation but it is amazing. The bipod is fully adjustable, It can go forward backward and has telescopic legs. The gun is very accurate like they say and has no problem taking a long shot. The gun is very heavy and would be hard to carry if you are going to be running a lot. another bad thing is, its almost impossible to get parts not specially ordered from Ares, for example I broke the bipod plastic part off (its a great bipod just don't try anything stupid with it) and I don't even want to take the trouble of getting the parts. but a good feature of the gun is on the bottom of the barrel there is as sliding rail that you could attach a second bipod if you have a situation like me. It does come with a gray flashider that you see in the picture but getting the orange one off is going to be a bit of a problem because its glued on. I personally don't like having a scope mount that high because zeroing it is more difficult. The scope adjusting nobs are adjusted with your bare hands but that's not the problem, the scope's nobs can easily be twisted by rubing up on something. The FPS is descent but I think it comes with a spring that adjusts it to make it higher. This gun is made for left handed people, the pistol grip makes sure of that. I'm left handed but I shoot right because I'm right eye dominant. the magazines have a 22 BB capacity and it comes with 2 mags (if 44 BB's isn't enough, your probably not ready for this gun). The check rest is very comfortable for a stressful battle. on the version 2 they fixed the leaking when you pulled back the bolt so that's also good. but over all this gun is fantastic but I would recommend it to Advanced snipers only.
Pros:
Range and precision, Check rest is comfortable, great bipod, awesome gray flash hider, it has a built in monopod, Spare mag insert is handy, the rail under the barrel is useful, adjustable stock.
Cons:
Really Heavy (even taking in the fact on "guns need weight"), FPS could be higher, extremely hard to get parts,.
The ARES DSR-1 Version 2 is an awesome gun. I, like most, was debating on whether or not it could be worth $800. Well, i have the gun now and i still dont know. The quality and build is absolutely amazing. Most of the gun is made from steel, the magazines are stainless. There are no junk parts and its well put together. However, i was a bit displeesed with the accuracy and range. the scope it comes with is amazing, but i shoot better without it. Most of the reason i wasnt pleased was because i was using .2 bbs and they dont seem to be heavy enough cuz they have a lot of curve when fired from the DSR. Heavier bbs should help with that. but it still shoots hard. Another good thing is that alot of it is adjustable including the bipod, bottom rail, scope, cheek rest, and stock. i rate this gun five stars for build and quality, and 4 stars for performance. hope my review helped!
Pros:
Includes bipod, scope, 2 magazines
well built
durible
awesome looking
intimidating to your opponents
Cons:
$800
HEAVY (which could be a pro too)
requires heavy BBs (i recommend .25g)
