This gun is awesome, it has a mean rate of fire right out of the box. RIS rails on the top allow for easily mounting optics (if mounting a scope it's best to use high rings.). Decent fps 350-400. Very easy to upgrade. Not the best on accuracy. Motor runs down after a while, a few months depending on how much you play. Just downgrade the spring or upgrade the motor.
Pros:
Rate of fire, FPS, RIS, FPS, and compatibility of upgrades.
Cons:
Not the best on Accuracy, and Motor runs down.
I've had this gun for over a year and it was worth every penny i spent. its a gun that sacrifices a metal body for a fairy good gearbox. it allows me to reach out and hit people using $500+ guns and for me that's great. although in plastic, the body can take a hit, i fell on mine(where the outer barrel meets the receiver) and the only damage was to the handguard! haven't had to replace anything and is still shooting strong at a constant 400-410 fps. If you have a low budget and want an m16, look no further, you've found greatness.
Pros:
consistent
trades
accurate(i installed a 6.03, only upgrade)
plastic
quality gearbox(for the price)
Cons:
plastic
large plug connector
literally.......that's it
Firstly, I have owned this gun for almost three years now, and it has never failed to impress me. Some say that when your shooting the right gun, you feel like the gun is part of you, and that's how I feel with any AR-style platform now. Now she's just like an old friend, and it never hurts to do some target shooting every week. Surprisingly, when I got it it was shooting ~380 FPS. Three years of play and 150,000+ rounds later and it still shoots around the 375 mark. Within the first year I had gotten a Prometheus 6.01 inner barrel and a 4 times zoom optic. This boosted the performance all around and the stock battery had been run flat so I bought a new one. Then I locked up the gearbox with the flat battery target shooting.
I rebuilt the gearbox with much angst and four-letter words. However, once it was rebuilt I notice something quite disturbing. The upper receiver had developed a nasty crack, and I bought a KWA upper to replace it. Then the motor burnt out at the end of the second year, and I bought a Systema 40000 RPM motor to replace that. Now I'm getting an RIS and grip because the barrel shroud has annoyed the sh*t out of me for long enough. That pretty much sums it up, the only untouched part on the gun at this point is the lower receiver and hop up, which has somehow survived the three years of torture and is next up for replacement.
Now it's my main armament and fun to drag to the local field and smoke newbs every month.
Overall, a good gun and great buddy to have at your side in a firefight. I would recommend it to anyone joining the sport and interested in learning the neat engineering behind airsoft guns. As an engineering student, I learned alot about airsoft from just this gun. However, I ended up putting ~$175 worth of parts into the damn thing, which makes me wonder of buying a $350 gun would have been easier. Still fun and deserving of a buy. Echo1 really has produced a masterpiece here.
93/100
Pros:
1. Good enough FPS with .25
2. Great ROF with better motor, mediocre ROF with a stock motor
3. Superior accuracy out of the box
4. Universal mags
5. So easy to upgrade a caveman can do it
6. Easy mount optics
7. Light enough you don't need to be a baby and get a sling
8. Ample battery space
9. Strong plastic on upper and lower
10. Easy to clean, which I recomend you do
Cons:
1. You can't treat it like a real steel AR-15
2. Fu*king barrel shroud/forearm is of horrible build quality
3. Iron sights make Henry sad
4. Always out of stock at GI, if you can't find it here, wait a little, as ASGI is the BEST. It it does not come buy it from somewhere else, I unfortunately had to :( (Sorry GI)
that's about it

New Motor/Spring Combo
What would be a good motor and spring combo to add into this gun that won't damage the gearbox? Other than the barrel, what should be changed to convert to a DMR?

the stock motor is good, I would recommend an M 120 or M 100 dual compression spring.

New RIS
What size and type of RIS would fit on this gun?

Staff Answer:
Due to the a TM specced delta ring, you might need to install a free float rail system. The drop-in kits that we sell will not work with a TM style delta ring. The choice of a free float rail system, including length and design, are going to be up to you. 3910 days ago 0

The triangle sight is required for the two piece handguard to function. If you decided to use a free-float RIS system, then you should be okay. 3929 days ago 0
