I recently bought this mount with my GPNVG-18's and i have to say that i'm really dissapointed with it. Out of the box i thought they were going to be great but after putting them on my helmet, i found out that there isn't a button to push to make the NVG's go down. You just simply push the NVG's up and it sort of pops into place. But, if the NVG's are too heavy ( as mine are) they will keep falling down and they won't stay up. I tried counter balancing it, but they still kept falling. Not to mention that it broke after playing with it for a few minutes. the front assembly just kind of fell apart. Plus it just felt wobbly from the start.
Pros:
I'm not saying that they are terrible, but they just didnt work for me so i guess a pro would be if you had lighter NVG's?
Otherwise, it could adjust to your face well.
Cons:
-Not put together well
-Front assembly broke
-pins came out
-No good locking mechnism
I opened the box and was disapointed right away. They felt woobly and loose, they did not fit my helmet, when i tried to fit them using more force i broke my mount.
Called GI Suppor, the were great but in the end the mount is shitty, and woobly, the metal bar that holdls the lock mecanish is loose that i had to hold it with epoxy glue.
THERE IS NO LOCKING MECHANISH
Pros:
- .......NONE AT ALL shitty all around
Cons:
- Too loose
- too expensive for the quality
- can hold any nvgs in place becuase there is no locking mechanish
The NVG arm is nice as far as the construction goes but i bought this to use with the quad NVGs and it is horrible, if you look down even a little bit the arm gives out, slamming the NVGs into your face, so i ended up having to attach the arm to the mount with a rubber band, not worth $80 if you are trying to use it with the quad NVGs.
Pros:
-Entirely made of metal -The arm is almost entirely adjustable
Cons:
-The arm cant support the weight of advertised NVGs -The design is a little funky -The price -Too much wobble in the arm that cannot be tightened
