Got this the moment it came out here on GI.
It looks and feels like a clone but not really cheap. It does wiggle on my gun but that seems to be due more to the fact that it sits on a spring adjustment system rather than how stable the rail attachment is.THough having said that i do not like the rail attachment system. It uses a pair of QD levers to push a pair of metal clips onto the rail. THese clips seem solid but they look thin and flimsy. It also gives me no real way to tighten it down any further.
This is not a replacement for a red dot or aim point its a competitor for an ACOG. as such it's zoomed with a very fine sweet spot in the eye relief. The magnification is handled by a nifty lever that turns a lens into place adjusting it to 4x zoom immediately. And the handle stays in place very well. The Green/Red dot is just a tiny dot in the center of elevated cross hairs. No muss no fuss no flash or flair just straight business and to the point.
The iron sights on top are kind of nifty in that they actually have 3 positions they can be screwed in to for those who want an offset sight. it also comes with a set of replacement irons. This effectively combines an aim point with a swivel magnifier into one unit and it kind of argues for real estate but mine came without defect or damage that i could detect just yet.
As long as you get this with the understanding that it is still a clone and treat it as such there should be nothing surprising here, and that can be a good thing. This speaks to me as an item choice for a more advanced player, not something that should just burn cash on for coolness sake strictly (which i did). This is better than some of the older clones i've handled but it remains a pricey item best left for those who will take proper care of it and get their full money's worth.
Lens has a low blue/green tint
Ideal for mid range spotting or DMR work.
Pros:
Looks cool
Zoome mechanism is quick and easy
Comes with 2 batteries
Illumination dial is smooth and strong
Cons:
Wiggles a bit
QD mount (i don't like it)
String tether is a laughable clone part (what do you expect though?)
U-D adjustment is short travel and the dial is a PAIN
