APS UAR Urban Assault Airsoft Rifle (Black)
[O07A00][12148 / APS AEG UAR BLK / UAR501B]New to airsoft? Here are some safety tips for airsoft guns that we recommend following.
UAR is a short form of Urban Assault Rifle. This gun is primary design for close quarter combat (CQC) use. The body of the gun is made of reinforced polyfibre + PA6 plastic which is light and durable. Unlike the traditional SMG, UAR has three magazine release buttons. Two buttons located at the front part of the gun parallelly and the other button located next to the magazine housing at the back. The charging handle has quick detach function allow user to place the handle on either left or right with a functional bolt catch. The UAR standard comes with 4 sides rail, especially the top rail where you can find a trench all the way down in the middle allowing user to perform quick aim without using any sights and scope. There is no denying that quick reaction and quick aim is essential in CQC situation and UAR can definitely help. Standard UAR has patented outward appearance. The gun specially comes with Dynamic trigger, Ergonomic Pistol Grip with room to place two 123A batteries, Stylish U-Mags and last but not least, a modified magazine housing allow user to perform speed reload without any trouble. The design of the bigger trigger guard is also extremely helpful when user is wearing a glove. One of the special designs of this gun is that no tool is required when assembling and dissembling. User can simply dissemble the gun by removing the 3 main pins on the lower receiver. The unused main pin can be inserted on the top rail. Stick Type battery is placed in the front part of the gun. No tool is required and users can normally re-assembling the gun in less than 60 seconds. To conclude, UAR is a brand new gun which never exists in the market before. With the patented design, special function, upgradable and compatible features found on this gun. we strongly believe UAR will become one of the most effective and popular bullpup weapon found in the Airsoft Industry.

In a word--crap. Gearbox stopped feeding properly after 15 minutes. Multiple magazines and different types of magazines. Even turned over and fed by hand. Nothing worked. Found it was the gearbox. Wouldn't feed anything, even fed one at a time by hand.
APS owes me $205 for this POS.
Quality quite low. Don't waste your money.
Let's face it, most auto airsoft guns are crap, but most are not $205. You expect more for that kind of money. But, guess what, you don't get it. Save your money. Buy a cheapy and just mod and repair it yourself, because you'll have to do that with this one anyway.
Pros:
Interesting and aesthetically interesting design.
That's about it.
Cons:
Unreliable.
Gearbox screwed after 15 minutes of use.
Quality quite poor
Less reliable than all other airsoft guns in my arsenal--but at twice the price--yeah!!
I bought this gun two weeks ago. It doesn't come with any sights or a battery. it does come with 2 high cap mags. If you're looking for a battery and don't know what to get. Stick type anywhere from 8.4+ with a minimal of 1000mahs.
Pros:
Stylish with my eotech on top. The gun is just very good looking and versitile. With that quick change spring it can be done in a minute or so by an idiot. The two springs is nice for enclosed battles and open field. which is nice for my buddies son who is only 6 who plays with us. The low spring helps with the low impact on his baby "man" arms. Ha.
Cons:
I have only used this gun twice. They said it was a hit or a miss and I took a shot in the dark and got a lemon. The beginning was 3 day shipping doesn't work for my area apparently I have talked to my friends and everyone has said when they choose it they get it late. Then one of the two mags I got didn't work with it (down to one mag). Right after my charging handle wouldn't discharge forward to be able to mess with my hop up in a match. Taking it apart was a mess with the barrel cover getting stuck. Keep in mind i probably shot 10 BB's that match. It was late in the day and we didn't have time before the sun went down. Yesterday we went out again. I shot 10 BB's and it worked fine. Playing capture the flag i got 10 feet from the flag and had an engagement and it just stopped shooting. I quit seeing BB's so I shot at the Semi-Trailer next to me and no pings... I was livid next because I stopped the match and my buddy thought we were in game and lit me up. The only thing i can think is wrong with it is the nozzle doesn't look like it fully disengages to put a new BB in unless the mag is at full tension. I'm Dedicated at getting this thing to work but we will see.
My idea on a first gun was to not do what all my friends did and get a base M4 model as a first gun. I looked into bullpups and when I came across this one you may call it love at first site. I bought this gun about a month back and have given myself some time to use this gun in any way I can before reviewing it. My version of the gun is a version 1. This is my first Airsoft AEG I have purchased and I'd do it again in an instant.
As a entry level airsoft gun I highly recommend this gun. The entire gun is made of a durable polymer plastic which holds very well against stress. This is a very comfortable gun to use from prone crawls through thick shrubs to assaults on enemy strong points through windows, up ladders, and into jeeps. The gun is very flexible on the field and with the fields. The gun features a quick change spring function with both springs provided. The standard spring was 347 FPS for me and the "Field spring" was just under 400 FPS. This makes switching between different fields an easy 15-30 seconds.
One con about this gun is it's mag compatibility. Hi-caps are fine, but Mid-cap compatibility is a shot in the dark. The gun also doesn't feature any realistic sighting system which requires the purchase of some kind of optic to use accurately. The hi-caps that come with the gun I would only recommend using for target practice because the bb pool is really small and unreliable.
Pros:
- Completely Ambidextrous
- Bullpup
- Quick change spring
- Uses M4 mags
- Rail system
Cons:
- No Iron Sights
- Rear plate is too easy to remove (I lost my side plate somewhere in Texas)
- Mag compatibility

Does the flash hider come off? And are there threads?
The introduction of a more ascetically pleasing barrel extension would be terrific

the flash hider does screw off and there are standard 14mm ccw threads beneath it, however the inner barrel sticks out maybe 2 inches past the threads, so something like a flash hider will show the inner barrel

Can you switch the charging handle to the other side?
That appears to me that it would be unusable for left handed shooters seeing the your face rests there.

Actually John, yes you can. I have this gun and you are able to switch the piece (that you use to pull the charging handle back) to the other side. The gun is completely ambidextrous.

So the only difference between the v1 and v2 UAR's are the battery location? (sorry about all the questions)

What is wrong with the battery compartment?
I got the UAR from a different site, and I also got a stick-type battery. The was no cord to plug in the battery where it's supposed to go, in the top front, and instead there was a cord in the buttstock. Is this supposed to be like this, because I don't have a battery that will fit in the stock.

UAR Gen1 are wired to the top front, the UAR Gen2's are wired to the rear. ASGI currently only carries the UAR Gen1's. 3939 days ago 0

Will you be adding angled baseplates soon, or should I buy them from somewhere else?
I was wondering if you are adding the baseplates to your catalog, because otherwise I'll just order it from somewhere else. (not meant to sound like or be blackmail)
