this thing is so freakin awesome!!!! I've always wanted a vest so i could look like the dudes in the movies as a kid. now that i play airsoft I have actually found that i not only want one but i need one! Tactical vest with all the pouches already are great and all but MOLLE is incredible! Really durable holds your gut in if you have one, very versatile in what it can carry and also size. its very adjustable(I'll tell you just how much in the Pros) but also surprisingly comfortable, if you mess with it and adjust it. some little trick i figured out on how to adjust it to fit someone under like 6ft tall i will explain later. my only regret is that i don't have it in black or olive drab(but if you live in California, in some sort of desert setting or you intend on playing in the fall then its perfect)
this one is only a con until you figure it out: it seems to be too long, and when you crouch the plastic shoulder things raise up against your knees and kinda get into your neck also limiting how far you can turn your head. I'm about 5' 6" and this was really bothering me. if you look at the pictures you'll see that one of the pictures has a back view. on the shoulders there is still about 2-3 inches of Velcro showing, and i thought" well seems awfully retarded to leave that much Velcro if this really is ans small as it gets. when you separate the Velcro for adjustment you'll notice that the strip of Velcro sandwiched in between the other two seems like its as far as it will go. like i said, way too much Velcro still. start by taking the top strap and extending it all the way down (the backside) till it's ends are touching the point where the extra Velcro ends. once this is done you will find that the middle strap is beyond the point where the other two would sandwich it in. now when you see this you'll probably be like "what the heck is this guy talking about?! what a stupid noob." but what you do is bring the bottom strap and fold it back on the sandwiched one. the finished fold should like like the strap with this bit kinda sticking out. it looks like it will jam into your shoulder, but on the contrary it acts as extra padding.
a personal request to Airsoft GI: it would be really great if you guys could make a video about this or give me permission to make one explaining this and give the link or just send it to you so you can make your own rendition of the video with the ever awesome Tim, and of course the camera and video editing software that i lack you could make up for.
Pros:
Adjustable : when they say it they mean it! my dad is about 250 lbs, and when the Velcro and straps were set it fit him(though rather snugly).
extremely durable! i own a SOG SEAL Team Elite, (which has MOLLE webbing which is currently on my vest) the sheath is made of an incredible durable fabric kinda like canvas, this material is what most of the vest is composed of.
the belt loops at the bottom are built to more than you could walk with( unless your really strong and or stupid) why? because they are held shut with a very tough snap button plus velcro. double strength but also can have a belt removed (relatively) quickly.
the possibilties of what you can add are such a comforting thought. but not to the enemy.
Cons:
too long unless you adjust it in way the way i tried my best to describe.
the shoulder part does not have MOLLE. im sure there is a very logical reason because there are the little rings that are similar to a belt i have where when you put the strap through and then back through between them it holds it in place.
a pain to get all the MOLLE stuff on and organized but hey, thats the same for all MOLLE, not really a con but its better that i mention it in case someone who has never had MOLLE knows
So far this has proved to be a strong and durable vest. All the Molle real estate is great, it provides me with a lot of space to attach all my pouches. Great buy would recommend!
Pros:
Strong
Durable
Protects against BBs
Lots of Molle real estate
Adjustable
Velcro for patches
Cons:
So far I haven't found any, only I can think of is it being slightly big on me but I'm a small person so that's understandable.
This vest is a good vest overall. It does sit a little lower than preferred so this means, if not adjusted, when you crouch the vest pops up off your shoulders. Once fixed it's perfect. Good MOLLE space all around and feels like good material. 2 useful inside zipped pockets for thing like cell phones.
Pros:
-Good MOLLE space
-Belt rings
-adjustable (seems to be capable of fitting bigger people)
-Good price
Cons:
-As mentioned before the vest sits a little lower than preferred but you are able to fix this.
